‘Sleepless nights’ for P3M lotto winner
Suddenly, she can practically afford everything but a good sleep.
Such was the case of a 38-year-old housewife from Isabela province who won the jackpot in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) 6/42 lotto draw on Aug. 11.
Upon learning that she hit the winning combination 38-10-23-15-19-42, the farmer’s wife had been having “sleepless nights” thinking what to do next, according to PCSO General Manager Ferdinand Rojas II.
Lest she arouse suspicion about her overnight riches, the mother of three was also hesitant to ask neighbors how to get to the PCSO office in Pasay City, Rojas said after meeting the winner and her husband on Friday when the couple collected the P3-million prize.
The woman, who had been betting on the lottery for four years, paid only P20 for the lucky ticket. She based her picks on the birthdays and ages of her family members, Rojas added.
In the Aug. 16 Superlotto 6/49 draw, five bettors hit the winning combination 7-30-20-12-5-8.
