CASINO THEFT SUSPECT MOVED

THE internal security Officer of the Philippine Amusement Gaming Corp. who stole P2.8 million from the satellite casino in Parkmall, Mandaue City was transferred to the city jail yesterday.

Pascual Urian Jr. was transferred after a warrant of arrest for qualified theft was issued against him on Tuesday, said Chief Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes.

Urian was presented to Regional Trial Court Judge Judge Estela Almasinco of Branch 55, who signed the commitment order.

Urian surrendered last August 9 to police in Panay town in Capiz and turned over P1,485,500 left over from the P2.8 loot.

HELPER STEALS JEWELRY

A WOMAN allegedly stole jewelry worth P300,000 about an hour after she was hired as a househelper in barangay Basak, Cebu City.

An operation is underway to arrest Lily Luyas, 28, a native of Bayawan City, Negros Oriental.

Police said Genesis Dacua, 28, hired Luyas as a maid around 6 a.m. last Wednesday.

Dacua’s neighbor had recommended the woman to her.

Dacua told police that Luyas left about an hour after she was hired.

GERMAN CHARGED

A GERMAN national was charged in court for not returning a vehicle he rented from a rent-a-car shop in Cebu City last May.

Peter Maik Kimmer is also facing charges for allegedly mauling a woman and possession of illegal drugs and a firearm.

Bail was recommended at P470,000 for all the charges.

Police said Kimmer and a certain Joshua Bosire rented a Kia Rio sedan with plate number YKJ-638 owned by Cebu Trip Rent-A-Car last May 28.

They were allowed to use the vehicle for only two days but the pair didn’t return the vehicle.

Last Aug. 11, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas traced the vehicle with the aid of a Global Positioning System.

The vehicle was parked in front of Philips Service Center located at Mango Avenue, Capitol Site.

Kimmer was arrested while Bosire remains at large.

A search made inside the vehicle yielded a . 45 caliber pistol, seven bullets, a silencer, one sachet of suspected shabu, heart burner, six pieces of aluminum tin foil, lighters, tooters made of aluminum foil.

Police also recovered 10 ampules of Nubain, a .357 caliber custom revolver, and 38 live ammunition inside Kimmer’s apartment.

Kimmer was brought to the Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office for an inquest proceeding last Wednesday.

6 COPS RELIEVED

SIX policemen in Cebu City were relieved from their posts for failing to conduct checkpoints as part of the Police Integrated Patrol System (PIPS) program.

They are Supt. Rey Tiembo of the operations branch of the Cebu City Police Office; Chief Insp. Andres Bayarcal, chief of the Waterfront police station; Senior Insp. Elisando Quijano, deputy chief of the Talamban police station; Senior Insp. Eugenio Raganas of the Pardo police station; Insp. Jacman Aton of the Guadalupe police station; and Senior Insp. Eliezer Abrigana of the San Nicolas police station.
