Farmer shot dead

A 40-YEAR-OLD farmer was shot dead by his neighbor while they were arguing outside a sari-sari store in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Luis Bornea died from gunshot wounds in the head and shoulder.

The suspect, Ireneo Purgatorio, fled after the killing.

Bornea was heading home after attending a fiesta in barangay Butong in Badian town past 6 p.m. last Wednesday when he dropped by a sari-sari store to buy a case of beer.

Police said Purgatorio arrived while Bornea was drinking beer outside the store.

Purgatorio pointed his finger at Bornea and said “Dasmag!”
