EX-GUARD NABBED

A FORMER security guard was arrested for carrying an unlicensed firearm in a subdivision in barangay Pardo, Cebu City.

Neil Brago, 41, yielded a .38 revolver when he was arrested last Thursday night by members of the the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7).

Police went to the subdivision to investigate a shooting incident which happened last Aug. 5 where a man was injured.

At the subdivision, police spotted Brago at the house of couple Manuel and Pamela Montanus where the man has been working in the past seven years as a private guard.

Police said there were reports that Brago had been carrying an unlicensed gun.

Police confronted Brago and recovered the gun from him.

MAN CHARGED FOR NEIGHBOR’S DEATH

A CHARGE of murder was filed against a 46-year-old coal miner accused of killing his neighbor in barangay Manlapay, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Odon Carulasan was charged at the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office yesterday for the death of Carlos Salariana.

Carulasan had accused Salariana of having an affair with his sister-in-law.

Last Tuesday night, Carulasan spotted Salariana walking along road and stabbed him in the chest.

A wounded Salariana ran but was chased by the suspect, who finished off the victim by repeatedly stabbing him in the back.
