THE NATIONAL University Bulldogs gained steam early on and never let up as they got their second straight win with a 77-62 thrashing of the Adamson Falcons in the 75th UAAP men’s basketball tournament last Sunday evening at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Emmanuel Mbe scored 11 of his 20 points in the first half as the Bulldogs led, 39-29.
They finished off their opponents in the third canto, where they outscored the Falcons, 27-15, to take a 66-44 lead to the fourth and final stanza. They would not be threatened until the final buzzer.
Mbe also added 15 rebounds to his stat line while reigning MVP Bobby Ray Parks, had low-key numbers in terms of points with just 12 but complimented that with 11 rebounds and five dimes to help NU push their record to 4-2 (win-loss).
Adamson had 13 points from Eric Camson but the Falcons were greatly hampered by the injury that was suffered by star wingman Alex Nuyles, who managed just two points in the game.
Adamson’s season continued its downward spiral as it suffered its third loss in four games.
