Laguna, Bataan, Pampanga, Zambales under state of calamity—NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines—Four provinces have been placed under state of calamity following torrential rains which triggered massive flooding in several areas in Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Wednesday.

In its 7 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said the local officials of Laguna, Bataan, Pampanga and Zambales have declared their respective province under state of calamity.

A total of 90 municipalities and cities were flooded in regions 1, 3, 4-A and the National Capital Region, the NDRRMC said.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said the total amount of relief assistance provided to affected families has reached P12.92 million. Of this amount, P6.04 million came from various local government units, P5.92 million was from the DSWD and P955,400 was provisioned
