Power Tools firm’s thrust
A GLOBAL power tools company is intensifying the marketing of its cordless products to get a share of the market in Cebu’s booming real estate and construction industry.
Herman Holst, Asia managing director of AEG Power Tools, announced the firm’s thrust in the country during last Friday’s Asian Distributors Conference at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa.
“The robust construction activity in Cebu is an opportunity for us to strengthen our foothold in the market. We are looking at promoting more of our cordless products which allows companies to be more environment-friendly,” said Holst.
Asia is a major growth market for its brand especially in countries like China, South Korea and the Philippines.
James Tan, president of Electro Werk Inc. the country’s exclusive distributor of AEG Power Tools, said he’s optimistic of the demand for power tools in the country majority of which would be in key regions and cities like Central Visayas.
“In 2010, we achieved $20 million in revenues and we are looking at getting $3 million by 2013. We will push for this through aggressive marketing and partnering with more dealers and retail shops in the country like Cebu Belmont in Cebu,” said Tan.
