THE COUNTRY’S fiercest rivalry in collegiate basketball gets another chapter written in their history today as the reigning champions Ateneo Blue Eagles faces off against the La Salle Green Archers in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.
Last year’s runners-up Far Eastern University Tamaraws will also be gunning for a second straight win as they take on the Adamson Soaring Falcons in the curtain-raiser at 1 p.m.
The spotlight will undoubtedly be on the Eagles and their blue-chip rookie, former University of the Visayas star Greg Slaughter, who debuted with 23 points and seven rebounds in leading Ateneo to a thrilling, 55-51, win over Adamson. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
