B-MEG Llamados rout winless Express

Game today

Araneta Coliseum

7 p.m.- Brgy. Ginebra vs. Alaska

THE B-MEG Llamados kept the Air21 Express winless with an easy 111-89 decision, ending their elimination round with a crucial win in the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum last night.

The Llamados dealt the eliminated Express their sixth straight defeat and must win their last assignment against the powerhouse Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters to avoid what could be a shameful winless conference.

The Llamados finished their elimination round campaign with four wins and same number of losses.

B-Meg is hoping that the Powerade Tigers and the Meralco Bolts won’t get more than three wins for them to advance to the semis.

With a 3-4 (win-loss) record, the Bolts still have one game left, while the Tigers, who are 2-4 still have two games remaining, including their game against the Petron Blaze Boosters, which was still being played as of this writing.

The number seven to nine squads after the eliminations will be booted out. In case of multiple ties, a quotient system will be implemented to determine who will advance.

Meanwhile, the Alaska Aces and the Barangay Ginebra Kings shoot for semifinal berth when they face other today at the same venue.

The Kings hold a 4-2 record good for second place.

Petron went into the match against Powerade sharing the top spot with Talk ‘N Text with identical 5-2 slates. The Boosters and the Texters are already assured of a semis spot.

The Aces, on the other hand, are tied for fourth place with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters with similar 4-3 records.  EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
