Mandaue nurse shoots self dead
A MALE NURSE allegedly shot himself dead over an argument with his girlfriend in a construction office in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as Michael Ryan Devera, 25, of barangay Tingub, Mandaue. He sustained a gunshot wound below the right ear.
Police said Devera went to his girlfriend’s office at the Huayo Construction after the pair had been at odds in the past few days.
While the couple were talking, the man took out a .9mm pistol, pointed it at his head while saying “goodbye.”
The woman told the man to put the gun away but Devera ignored her. The woman, who got irked, left the office. Shortly after, a gunshot rang out.
A bloodied Devera was later found and was rushed to a Cebu City hospital where he was declared dead. REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
