The National University  which is located in Sampaloc, Manila, was founded by Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson on Aug. 1, 1900. Originally called Colegio Filipino, it was one of the first nonsectarian and coeducational institutions in the country. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
