Green leads Abbariao hoops

GREEN crushed Kentkyle Cuisine, 85-73, Thursday night to snare the early lead in the Customs-3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 Biggest Loser basketball tournament at the Basak San Nicolas gym.

Playing without team captain Boodie Monteño, Green jumped to a, 26-21 lead in the first canto, but Kentkyle responded with a deafening, 20-7 rally in the second for a, 41-33 lead at the half.

The 3rd period though, clearly belonged to Green which unloaded a, 33-15 bomb to take a, 66-56 lead into the 4th quarter where it completed the 12-point demolition for its second win in as many games.

Noel Medalle led Green with a night-high 35 points while Kenneth Maningo paced Kentkyle Cuisine with 20 markers.

Earlier, Blue dumped Alin Customs Brokerage, 90-80, in come-from-behind fashion.

The Brokermen took double-digit leads in the first three periods but cooled down in the fourth allowing Blue to outscore them, 22-8 to snatch the win.

Ronan Cañete and Rizan Herbito led Blue with 20 and 18 points, respectively while Ryan Villomo paced the Brokermen with 24 markers.
