LAWYER’S CAR RANSACKED
A FEMALE lawyer lost P10,000 worth of valuables to thieves, who ransacked her car in barangay Centro, Mandaue City.
Aileen Quirante reported the theft which took place past 6 p.m. on Wednesday outside the Sweet Coco Fashion Boutique and Coffee Shop on Tribunal Street where she parked her Honda Civic sedan.
While she was in the shop, an employee alerted her that a man was seen getting out of her car.
Quirante rushed to her car and found its door forced opened. Perfume bottles and clothes were stolen. Police said three men were earlier seen sniffing rugby outside the store./CORRESPONDENT FE MARIE D. DUMABOC
MAN POURS ACID ON BOY
A MAN poured muriatic acid on a 17-year-old boy whom he suspected to be a thief in barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
Jessie Yu was arrested but was later released after the boy’s parents decided not file charges against him.
The boy suffered severe burns in the face and had to be confined at the at Cebu City Medical Center, said police.
Police said the boy’s parents agreed not to file charges against Yu as long as he would shoulder the boy’s medical expenses.
Police investigation showed that Yu saw the boy under his two-story house past 2 p.m. yesterday.
Suspecting that the boy was a thief, Yu took a bottle of muriatic acid and poured it on the boy, said SPO2 Criscente Dacillo of the Punta Punta police.
Neighbors arrested Yu and turned him over to the police./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
