Binisaya film festival to kick off with campus tours in Davao, Cebu
LOCAL filmmakers will be holding a film festival dubbed as “Binisaya Film Festival” or “Binisaya.”
“Binisaya” is a film exhibition of new Cebuano films.
The first “Binisaya” exhibition was held on Oct. 30, 2009 at Turtle’s Nest, featuring “Uwan init pista sa langit,” “Mga damgo” and “Yawyaw.”
It was then followed on Dec. 2 and 3, 2011 at the University of San Carlos College of Fine Arts and Architecture Theater, featuring “Biyernes Biyernes,” (One Day, One City, Seven Stories) a full-length film made through the collaborative efforts of seven local filmmakers.
“Biyernes Biyernes” was also featured in British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) Fast Track and was shown at the Yerba Buena screening room in San Francisco, California last June 10.
And now comes the third “Binisaya Film Festival 2012” from Oct. 5 to Oct. 7, with guests from Manila and Davao.
