Murder suspect used fake name

A 62-YEAR-OLD  man who was earlier arrested for allegedly mauling a construction worker to death in Mandaue City found himself in deeper trouble.

Abraham Ruiz Bulambao could face additional charges after it was found out that he used a fictitious name when he was arrested in connection with the killing of Joly John Roble, 30, in barangay Pagsabungan last Sunday dawn.

He introduced himself as George Ruiz when he was arrested at home shortly after the incident, said Senior Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of the Basak police station.

Police  also learned that Bulambao has a pending warrant of arrest for murder in relation to the fatal hacking of a  neighbor in Bogo City, northern Cebu,  in 2003.

Abot said Bulambao will be charged for the death of Roble and for using fictitious name.

Last Sunday, police said a drunk Roble was seen staggering  along a road past 2 a.m.

Bulambao, who was also drunk, approached Roble and repeatedly hit him with the  branch of a guava tree.

A witness told police that Bulambao hit Roble in the head, neck, and other parts of the body until the victim fell on the ground unconscious. Roble later died at the Mandaue City Hospital.

Responding policemen  arrested Bulambao at home. He said he was forced to attack Roble because the man  tried to enter his house./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
