7-vehicle pileup leaves 7 injured

Seven people were injured after the driver of a passenger bus lost control over his vehicle which plowed into six others on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, Monday morning.

Reports sent to the Quezon City Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit showed that the seven vehicle pileup happened after a downpour caused by typhoon “Gener.”

The police identified the injured victims as Jemma Busog, 23; Richard

Ortega, 38 and his wife Myla, 36; Joseph Manalo, 38; Cesar Acla, 39; Grace Picorro, 40 and Joseph Picorro, 33. They were taken to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Case investigator Police Officer 2 Allan Florendo said the accident happened at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Winston Street.

Paquito Sevilla, driver of the Original Transport bus, told the police that he lost control of his vehicle which hit two tricycles, a Mitsubishi Montero, a pickup truck, a jeepney and a tow truck.
