Filipino citizens have until October 31 to register with the Commission on Elections to be able to cast their votes in the coming midterm elections, Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. said Sunday.

Brillantes said the stalled voter registration and records validation would resume on August 1.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said those aged 18 and over may file applications as new voters at the Comelec office near them. Comelec offices are open from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applications for correction of entries, transfer of registration records and change of name will also be accepted as long as valid identification cards are presented, said Jimenez.

The Comelec temporarily stopped the registration and validation of voters last month to give way to the special registration in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). Jocelyn R. Uy
