Durabend wins opener in 5th UAB Club hoop

DEFENDING champions Durabend, got their title defense off to a rousing start as they creamed Davies, 64-43, at the start of the 5th United Architects Basketball Club Corporate Cup at the Cebu Eastern College gym.

Durabend is coming back with an even more potent lineup from last year’s title-winning squad. Phillip Lim led the onslaught with 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists. Durabend was relentless in the final period where they outscored their opponents, 19-7.

In the other games, Boysen prevailed over Megabond, 65-59, with Michael Cinco scoring 18 points. Duane Anino also contributed key numbers as he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The final game of the afternoon saw Unitec crush Multiline, 84-63.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
