Man killed in Cebu road accidents
A 56-YEAR-OLD man was killed while he was crossing the road in barangay Tapon, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Lino Magallanes Jr. died after he was hit by a tricycle past 6 p.m. last Thursday.
In Talisay City, a man riding a motorbike rammed a government road signage.
The injured driver was brought to a hospital in Cebu City.
In the Dalaguete accident, police said Magallanes came from a drinking a session in a neighbor’s house.
He crossed the road on his way home when he was hit by a tricycle driven by Filemon Silabay, 33.
Article continues after this advertisementSilabay said he was driving at normal speed when the victim suddenly crossed the road.
Article continues after this advertisementSilabay brought the victim to the Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital.
From there, the victim was transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City but he died around 11 p.m.
Silabay was detained at the Dalaguete police precinct and will be charged of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
In barangay Linao, Talisay City, 25-year-old Jesus Yamomo was riding a motorcycle when he rammed a road signage owned by the Department of Public Works and Highways.
He survived.
Yamomo was brought to a hospital in Cebu City.
