A CHINESE-FILIPINO trader was shot dead in Manila as he was leaving for work yesterday morning.
Frederick Pamillo, 51, a fruit and vegetable retailer, was maneuvering his van out of the garage of his house on Gamban Street in Balut, Tondo, when two men approached him, and shot him at close range.
Pamillo’s body bore only one gunshot wound in the back of his head although a witness said that he heard three successive gunshots.
The witness, however, failed to give a description of the gunmen. The two escaped on foot after the shooting incident by heading toward Honorio Lopez Boulevard.
Case investigator PO2 Jupiter Tajonera of the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section said Pamillo was a vendor at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Tajonera added that investigators were still trying to determine the motive for the killing.
The police said they had invited Pamillo’s family and workers for questioning.
Meanwhile, a P20,000 reward has been put up for any information leading to the arrest of the killer of a 21-year-old Chinese national who helped run a family restaurant in Binondo, Manila.
The MPD has started looking for George Gardose, 24, a native of La Paz, Iloilo City, who is believed to have stabbed dead Xu Hanwei, the cashier and son of the owner of Hap Ka Bee Restaurant on Benavidez Street in Binondo.
On July 6, Gardose broke into the restaurant’s cash register. He also killed Xu who, at the time of the robbery, was still in the restaurant.
Those with any information about his whereabouts can call the MPD at 5244311.
