3 workers suffocate inside septic tank in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — Three construction workers died while inside a septic tank in Malvar town in Batangas Wednesday, police said.

Senior Inspector Gaudencio Aguilera, chief of the Malvar police station, said that Romulo Alvarez, Nardito Igloso, and Ronald Alimbo, of the EZP Technohub Mabz Builders inside the LIMA Technology Center in Santiago village in Malvar town, died from suffocation.

He said that five victims were rushed to the Metro Lipa Hospital in Lipa City but three were pronounced dead on arrival.

The other two — Tarcisio Ondoy and Glenard Igloso — said the police chief, were in stable condition as of posting time.
