A group of armed men attacked the Philippine National Police headquarters at Camp Datu Aklan Ampatuan, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao, on Wednesday, a PNP spokesman said.

Citing a police report, PNP Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the suspects fired five 40-millimeter high explosive double purpose grenade launchers simultaneously. Two landed at the parade grounds, one landed two meters away from the First Platoon Provincial Public Safety Company, another landed two meters away from the house of Retired Senior Police Office 4 Romeo Gignadice and one landed unexploded at the basketball court.

Cruz also said there were no reported casualties.

The case is still under investigation by the Shariff Aguak Municipal Police Station.
