THE DEFENDING champion Stream Ingenyouity overcame a listless first quarter performance to edge out the Eperformax Reds, 53-51, last Saturday in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Stream was held down to just six points in the opening period and gave up 15 points to its opponent.
Stream bounced back in the middle periods outscoring Eperformax, 34-30, then worked hard on defense in the fourth, where it outscored the Reds, 13-6, to escape with the two-point victory.
Sylvester Millevo scored 18 points, while Dino Flores added 10 markers for Stream, which tied the Aegis Vipers at the number one spot in the northern division standings with their eighth win in nine games.
The Xlibris Publishers, on the other hand, pocketed their third win in eight games with an 86-45 trouncing of the winless Executive Boutique Lycans.
