Farmer attacks woman with bolo in D’Bantayan

A 42-YEAR-old woman survived a bolo attack by her neighbor after an argument last Sunday in barangay Pajo 2, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.

Corazon Sontousidad suffered hack wounds in the face and body and was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Sanito Almeda, a farmer and the victim’s neighbor, fled after the attack.

Investigation showed that Sontousidad and Almeda had just attended a celebration to mark nine days since the death of their neighbor.

They were already arguing inside their neighbor’s house and at the height of their argument Sontousidadslapped Almeda.

Almeda went home but Sontousidad followed him. It was then that Almeda got a bolo and hacked and stabbed Sontousidad./Reporter Rhea Ruth Rosell
