Couple shot dead in Pasig City restaurant
MANILA, Philippines—A couple was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in Pasig City Tuesday before noon, reports said.
A report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM on Tuesday afternoon said police authorities had identified the couple as Bienvenido and Melia Tan of Barangay (village) Bagong Ilog, Pasig City. The victims died on the spot.
Village watchman Renato Pasto was quoted as saying that the victims had just arrived at the Barrio Fiesta restaurant on Marcos Highway, corner De la Paz street, Pasig, on board a gray Toyota Innova (ZNT 210) when the perpetrators, who were riding a motorcycle in tandem, fired at them as soon as the victims had parked their vehicle at 11:43 a.m.
Teody Villenas of the Pasig City Command Center earlier said the victims sustained gunshot wounds to their heads.
Investigators had yet to determine the motive behind the attack, as well as identify the two suspects, who managed to escape after the incident.
