CAR RAMS BRIDGE RAILING
TRAFFIC snarled at the old Mandaue-Mactan bridge in barangay Looc after a pick-up car climbed into the gutter and rammed the bridge’s railing shortly before midnight last Thursday night.
Members of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue City had a hard time removing the car after it was pinned against the railings.
It was only at 10:45 a.m. yesterday that the the car was removed.
The driver of the vehicle with plate number GFM-884, 56-year-old Narciso Eric Redulla Jr., escaped unhurt.
The vehicle is owned by Skyline Advertising Inc. in Cebu City.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice said the Lapu-Lapu-bound vehicle was running at high speed when Redulla lost control of the wheel.

FARMER FOUND HANGING DEAD
A 40-YEAR-OLD farmer was found hanging dead in a nipa hut in barangay Tominjao, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.
Police said a brown belt was looped around the neck of Jose Marie Rosell and the other end connected to the ceiling of an abandoned hut owned by Basilisa Moralde.
Police said Rosell’s relatives couldn’t think of any reason why the farmer committed a suicide.
Police said there were no signs of foul play in the man’s death.
Rosell’s 35-year-old wife Estrella said the nipa hut served as a resting place by farmers.
The wife said she was shocked to see her husband suspended from the ceiling when she checked on him around 7 a.m. yesterday.
Estrella she and her husband didn’t have any problems which may have driven her husband to kill himself.

MAN DROWNS OFF MEDELLIN
A 38-YEAR-OLD man drowned after jumping from a 26-feet diving board in Funtastic Island, in Gibitngil, Medellin town, northern Cebu.
Police said Rodito Rosos failed to surface after jumping from the diving board.
Police said Rosos had a drinking spree with friends before the accident.
Rosos said the body was found submerged 15 minutes after the leap.
Police said there no signs of foul play in the incident.
Rosos was declared dead when he was brought to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Bogo City./SWU INTERN AGNES DOMASIG
