The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) was formally organized as a permanent sports association on Sept. 27, 1938. Originally with four member schools, its first sports events were basketball, women’s volleyball, baseball, football, swimming and track and field. As of last season, the UAAP has eight member schools and features 15 regular sports. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
