Stalled car hit by rushing firetruck, three wounded
A FIRETRUCK rushing to respond to an alarm in Mandaue City on Sunday night hit a car stalled on the road.
The impact caused the parked car to slam a pedestrian, 20-year-old Velmar Urot who was passing by.
The car owner Jay Limpag, 32, of barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, was also injured.
The firetruck owned by barangay Tipolo was responding to a fire alarm at 11 p.m. in barangay Basak.
Police said Limpag’s car was stalled in the middle of the road due to engine trouble.
It was not visible in the night because there was no early warning device in front or back to alert oncoming traffic.
