New Neda, SEC officials named
President Benigno Aquino has appointed UP School of Economics professor Emmanuel Esguerra as acting Deputy Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) and former SGV& Co. chairman David L. Balangue as commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Esguerra replaces Augusto Santos at the Neda while Balangue will assume the post of former Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Raul Palabrica at SEC.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said their appointment papers were signed by the President last July 4.
Esguerra has a doctorate in agriculture economics from the Ohio State University. Balangue served as consultant for various companies. Gil C. Cabacungan
