LUCENA CITY, Philippines—A truck helper was killed and two others were seriously injured when their vehicle plunged 30 feet into a ravine in the municipality of Pagbilao, Quezon, early Friday, police said Saturday.

The fatality was identified only as “Joemi,” reportedly a resident of Daraga, Albay, according to Police Officer 2 Erickson Hachaso.

The truck driver, Eduardo Rovales Mostar, and his other helper, Anacleto Minero Dazal, sustained serious injuries and were taken by rescuers to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City.

The body of the deceased now lies at Saint Peter Funeral chapel in Lucena City, the police officer said.

Meanwhile, a Lucena-bound bus bumped  a police mobile car in Sariaya town along the Maharlika Highway early afternoon Friday.

The police vehicle, a white Toyota Altis, was carrying policemen on patrol in Barangay Balubal when it was accidentally hit on its front right side fender by the AB Liner bus, said a report released Saturday by the Quezon Provincial Police Office.
