“I’m very honored that I have the President of the Philippines as a guest on my birthday,” Durano told reporters in an interview.

Durano said it was the Liberal Party that invited Bakud to be a coalition partner in the 2013 elections.

“I believe personally in the program of government of President Noynoy [the President’s nickname] Aquino and the LP’s 16-point agenda,” Nito Durano said.

The Danao City vice mayor is the father of former Tourism Secretary Ace Durano, who served under the previous administration.
