KENTKYLE Cuisine and MJDL beat separate foes to bag their second straight win and the lead in the ongoing tune-up games of the Customs — 3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 Biggest Loser basketball tournament at the barangay Basak San Nicolas gym.
The Cuisiners bucked a sluggish start to beat Alin Brokers, 88-80 while MJDL crushed International Port Users, 92-74.
Kentkyle Cuisine trailed, 19-21 in the 1st quarter and 42-43 at the half before grabbing a, 69-65 lead at the end of the 3rd canto after unloading a blistering, 27-22 run.
The Cuisiners then outscored Alin in the fourth, 19-15 for the eight-point victory.
Kenneth Maningo led Kentkyle Cuisine with 19 points while Ramil Aniñon and Gilbert Real added a combined 28 markers. Edwin Estorgio and Ryan Barral paced Alin Brokers with 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Earlier, MJDL came back from a 12-point deficit, 37-49 at the half by outscoring the Port Users, 31-12 in the fourth quarter for the easy win.
Jaymar Elloren and pointguard Janus Abellana led MJDL with a game-high 33 and 17 points, respectively, while Roger Manulat and Jeff Garcia paced the Portmen with 15 and 10 markers, respectively. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
