AROUND 1,000 runners gather at the Fort San Pedro grounds for the start of today’s second leg of the nationwide Run For Pinoy Glory.
The race is a fund-raising event for Filipino paralympians who will compete in the London Paralympic Games next month.
The race will have 3-kilometer, 5k, 12k, 16k and 21k categories. There will also be a special 3k category for persons with disabilities on wheelchairs.
Some of the country’s paralympians who will compete in London are expected to grace the event.
Organizers will award specially designed shirts resembling the Philippine Flag and three-inch Olympic inspired design medals for 21-kilometer finishers. A 2.5-inch version of the medal will also be given to the 16k finishers. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
