ALA Promotions set fight card in Dumaguete

ALA Promotions will stage a seven-bout fight card on July 21 in Dumaguete City to be headlined by Joseph Von Miñoza and RJ Ano-os in a 10-round, non-title contest.

Last Jan. 28, Miñoza (13W-3L, 5 KOs) fought in the undercard of Pinoy Pride XI at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and beat Yoo Shin Kim of South Korea by eight round unanimous decision. But Miñoza would lose in his next bout in Japan by split decision against Akinori Kanai.

Ano-os (7W-3L-1D, 2 KOs) knocked out Joan de Guia in one round last October in Liloan, Cebu but he would also lose in Japan in his next fight by unanimous decision to Takashi Miura last February.

Also penned to see action are Melvin Gumban vs. Aroel Romasasa (10 rounds); Roma Rate vs. Lyndel Radoc (8 rds); Reymund Tabogon vs. Lito Dante (6 rds); Pedro Balaba vs. Cristian Saga (6 rds); Rey Morales vs. Ian Teves (4 rds) and Rolando Lingao-lingao vs. Steven Recaborda (4 rds).

DEMECILLO GETS NEW FOE

Meanwhile, RWS Promotions has announced that Marco Demecillo Singwangcha (16W-0L-1D, 12 KOs) will get a new opponent for their July 22 fight card in Compostela, Cebu. He will face Jeffrey Cerna (12W-5L, 5 KOs) instead of the previously reported Jetro Pabustan, who backed out of the scheduled non-title 10 rounder.

Cerna lost in his last fight to Arthur Villanueva by split decision in the undercard of the WBO lt.flyweight title bout between Donnie Nietes and Mexico’s Felipe Salguero last June 2 in Manila. Demecillo is the reigning Philippine superflyweight champion. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
