Weather in Metro to improve Thursday, in whole PH by Friday—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines—After Wednesday’s afternoon rainshowers and thunderstorms in some parts of Luzon and Visayas, the weather is expected to improve in Metro Manila by Thursday and the whole archipelago by Friday.
The low pressure area that spawned heavy rain over the capital and Central and Southern Luzon Tuesday swirled farther away from the archipelago, and was forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility last night.
This Thursday, the whole archipelago would experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the western section of Luzon, which could trigger flashfloods and landslides, the state weather bureau, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said.
The capital would experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers on Thursday, while the whole archipelago would experience mostly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers Friday, forecasters said.
“We will have improving weather in Metro Manila by Thursday afternoon and fair weather for the whole country by Friday and Saturday,’’ forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in an interview.
Before the LPA swirled out of the PAR on Wednesday night, the southwest monsoon brought scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the western section of Central Luzon, parts of the capital, down to Visayas, forecasters said.
The LPA had little chance of developing into a tropical depression because its band of clouds had been diminished by the winds, and could either dissipate or maintain its strength while exiting PAR, said Aurelio of Pagasa.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, the LPA was swirling over the West Philippine Sea 250 kilometers northwest of Iba, Zambales.
The bureau doesn’t expect any new LPA within the next three days. The LPA swirling over the Pacific Ocean could either dissipate or change directions, forecasters said.
