Angara to LGUs: No excuses in giving late class suspension advisory
Manila, Philippines—Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara urged local officials to speed-up the fixing of systems to declare class suspensions, saying in the age of new technology, local officials had no excuse for their late declarations.
A Radyo Inquirer report on Wednesday quoted Angara as saying that local government officials should maximize the use of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites to help them better disseminate information on class suspensions especially during typhoons.
Angara, chairman of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, also said local officials should be more efficient so that the safety of Filipino students would be ensured.
