Police uproot P800T marijuana in Danao
AT LEAST 300 fully grown marijuana plants were uprooted in barangay Magtagobtob, Danao City, northern Cebu yesterday.
No one was arrested during the operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas and Philippine Air Force.
The uprooted marijuana plants had an estimated value of P800,000 with each stalk costing P250, said Jessie Tabanao, assistant information officer of the PDEA-7.
Meanwhile, agents of the PDEA-7 arrested a couple and another man in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.
Salvador Alquizala, his live-in partner Marcelina Dela Rosa and John Tilopo were arrested shortly after they allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.
The three persons denied that a buy-bust occurred, saying they were just picked up by PDEA-7 agents.
Article continues after this advertisementThe PDEA-7 said a pack containing a white crystalline substance and P500 marked bills were recovered from Alquizala’s possession.
After the arrest, 10 packs of suspected shabu were recovered from Dela Rosa and two packs were recovered from Tilopo, said PDEA-7./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
