Boy killed with dog he tried to save

/ 09:58 PM June 30, 2012

John Melo Solomon, 13, was worried that his dog, which ran toward the middle of Edsa, might be hit by buses on the highway.

He went after his pet but both boy and dog died after being run over by a southbound Malanday bus (TBZ 346) before dawn on Saturday in Quezon City.

Traffic investigator Christian Mendieta said the out-of-school youth, a resident of Old Samson Road, Barangay Apolonio, was killed while trying to save his pet.

Witnesses said the driver and conductor got off to help the victims, but went back to the bus and drove off after seeing the boy’s enraged uncle approaching. Julie Aurelio
