Police to seek priests’ help to identify boy’s abductors

/ 07:29 AM June 30, 2012

Police said they would  check if the security camera in the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral  was able to record  the two women who dropped off a  one-year-old boy  who was abducted  last Monday in a downtown mall in Cebu City.

Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, director of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said he believes  the incident was not a kidnap-for-ransom case and that the abductors were bothered by their conscience  and decided to return the baby.

The boy who was left with a teenage girl near the church was turned over  by security guards to  the Sto. Niño barangay hall.
