3 nabbed as PDEA dismantles Subic drug den

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Authorities dismantled a makeshift drug den in Barangay Calapacuan in Subic, Zambales on Saturday and seized suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) valued at about P136,000.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 3 reported that a buy-bust operation was conducted at around 5:40 p.m. in the area led to the arrest of three  suspects aged 43, 33, and 27.

Operatives recovered eight transparent plastic sachets containing an estimated 20 grams of suspected shabu, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the operation.

The confiscated substances will be forwarded to the PDEA Regional Office 3 laboratory for forensic examination to confirm their composition.

The suspects are expected to face a formal complaint for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /gsg
