Alleged drug den operator, 3 others arrested in Subic

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Authorities dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested its alleged operator and three other individuals in Barangay Calapacuan in Subic, Zambales during a late-night anti-drug operation on Saturday, March 7.
According to reports from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), some P47,600 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) was also seized during the operation that targeted the drug den reportedly being run by a 50-year-old suspect.
Aside from the seven plastic sachets containing around seven grams of suspected shabu, authorities also recovered assorted drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the buy-bust transaction.
The suspects were taken to the PDEA regional office III for temporary detention while charges were being prepared against them.
The alleged operator will face non-bailable charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 6 (maintenance of a drug den, dive or resort) of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The three other suspects will also face charges under the same law, authorities said. /apl
