USJ-R scrabble tilt on June 30

THE 2012 UNIVERSITY of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Scrabble Open will kick off on June 30 at the auditorium of the USJ-R Basak campus.

Leading the list of top contenders will be Cebu’s best word wizard headed by the multi-awarded Teodoro Martus Jr., Dart Eslao, University of Visayas’ (UV) Renante Dela Cerna, Teresa Barola and Ursi Aparre.

Cash prizes will be given to the top five  while the champion will also be getting a trophy.

The event will use an eight-round King of the Hill format. Categories will be the open, high school and elementary.

FEATURED STORIES

Highlighting the tournament is the participation of USJR’s best word wizards against players from the University of San Carlos, Cebu Institute of Technology- University and UV.

The event serves as a preparations for the upcoming World Youth Scrabble Championship-Visayas Eliminations to be held on August here in Cebu.
