Silvano faces Cabilla in J Center Mall boxing card
TWO OF THE country’s up and coming boxing prospects Vergilio “Maton” Silvano of Dalaguete, Cebu and Charlie “Steelbar” Cabilla of Bukidnon clash for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight championship in the main event of the “Fight Fury” boxing series on July 29 at the J Center Mall convention hall in AS Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.
The 22-year-old Silvano (11-2, 6KOs), the country’s No. 1 contender in his division, will try to extend his 10-fight winning streak against an experienced journeyman from Bukidnon. Cabilla (12-10, 2KOs) is the current No. 10 contender in the same division.
If Silvano wins this bout, he will challenge Jerson “Smooth Operator” Mansio (15-6, 3KOs) for the Philippine Games and Amusements Board (PGAB) light flyweight title.
Silvano recently won impressively against Jonathan Ricablanca last May 11 via a sixth-round stoppage in San Isidro, Leyte.
The fight is being put up by Omega Pro-Naris Singwangcha Promotions.
