Green, Int’l Port Users topple foes in tuneup games

THE Jingjing Rama-led Green team and the International Port Users of Jano Boniao trounced separate foes in the ongoing tune-up games of the Customs-3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup, Biggest Loser basketball tournament at the newly-refurbished Basak San Nicolas gym.

Green beat Blue, 81-73 while Int’l Port Users subdued Alin Customs Brokerage, 90-86.

Green jumped to a, 22-16 lead in the opening period and kept its single-digit advantage the rest of the way for the 8-point victory over Blue.

Jingjing Rama regained his scoring form in leading Green with a game-high 17 points spiked by four triples while Noel Medalle, Boodie Monteño and Edwin Nadal added double figures each for Green’s third straight tune-up win.

Andy Gerundio and Ferdie Laraga paced Blue with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

In the other game, the Int’l Port Users of playing coach Yoly Cena leaned on its strong first half performance where it erected a 10-point lead, 44-34 and scuttled the strong endgame rally of Alin Customs Brokerage.

Broker Mondin and Taks Moral led the Portmen with 19 and 15 points, respectively, while Israel Alin paced the Brokermen with a night-high 26 markers.
