Pagasa forecasts cloudy skies, rain in parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines–A low pressure area and a southwest monsoon are seen to bring rains in parts of the country, the state weather bureau said Friday.

The low pressure area was seen 860 kilometers east of Mindanao, while the southwest monsoon was affecting Northern and Central Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The Northern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon will experience occasional rains, while Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will mostly have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, it also said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas from the southwest to west over Mindanao, Pagasa said.
