MANILA, Philippines—House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez has expressed confidence former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo could still win in the upcoming midterm elections.

Suarez told reporters during a press briefing Wednesday at the House of Representatives that Arroyo still enjoys the support of people in second district of Pampanga.

Although unable to confirm whether the former leader would still run during the 2013 polls, Suarez said that Arroyo’s hospital arrest would not affect her chances at winning. From radio report of Isa Avendano, Radyo Inquirer 990AM
