MANILA, Philippines — Four weather systems are forecast to bring rains across the country on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, Pagasa said that the shear line, or the convergence of warm and cold winds, will prevail over the northeastern part of Luzon while the northeast monsoon, or amihan, will affect the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.

“The influence of the shear line will continue, that’s why the northeastern part of Luzon will experience chances of rain in the next two to three days,” Pagasa weather specialist John Manalo said in Filipino.

“The amihan will continue to influence western section of Northern and Central Luzon in Metro Manila, with a low chance of rain tomorrow,” Manalo added.

Aside from this, Manalo said that Palawan, central and western sections of Visayas, Zamboanga, and Northern Mindanao will experience a low chance of rain.

“Eastern Visayas, particularly in Samar Island, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar and Leyte, and Caraga Region will see a high chance of rains due to easterlies,” Manalo noted, speaking Filipino.

Manalo also said that the intertropical convergence zone will continue to affect and bring cloudy skies over Davao region and southern section of Mindanao.
