NCRPO rescue team shapes up for Metro Manila disasters

MANILA, Philippines – The National Capital Region Police (NCRPO) on Tuesday beefed up its search and rescue team and deployed the group around Metro Manila, a Radyo Inquirer report said.

The report said NCRPO Director Alan Purisima has fielded 100 members of the team after they completed their regular training in rescue missions during calamities.

The report also quoted Purisima as saying that although search and rescue missions were not part of the Philippine National Police’s directives, it would help if the PNP would form a group that would lead in helping victims of calamities.
