LRT-2 extends holiday season operating hours

MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) is extending its operating hours duringnthen Christrmas holiday rush from Dec. 9 to 30, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Monday.
In a statement, Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the LRT-2 management already assured the public that the extension will not affect the rail line’s maintenance and safety routines.

The extended operating hours starting December 9 re as follows:
Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station – 10 p.m.
Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station – 10:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the LRT-2 will implement shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve:
Dec. 24
Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station – 8 p.m.
Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station – 8:30 p.m.
Dec. 31
Last train from LRT-2 Antipolo Station – 7 p.m.
Last train from LRT-2 Recto Station – 7:30 p.m.
Regular operations will then resume on Jan. 1.
MRT-3 adjustments
Meanwhile, the MRT-3 will likewise implement a shortened train schedule on Dec. 24 and 31, while adjusting its schedule for Dec. 25 and Jan. 1
Dec. 24 and 31:
Last train from North Ave. – 7:45 p.m.
Last train from Taft Ave. – 8:23 p.m.
Dec. 25 and Jan. 1
First trip from North Ave. and Taft Ave. – 6:30 p.m.
Last trip from North Ave. – 10:30 p.m.
Last trip from Taft Ave. – 11:09 p.m.
