Expect rains in parts of Luzon due to southwest monsoon – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon will experience rains due to a southwest monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday.
Northern and Central Luzon will have occasional rains becoming frequent over the western sections which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and western Visayas and coming from the southeast to southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Talim, which was expected to enter the country on Wednesday was seen to move northeast slowly.
It was estimated 800 kilometers west of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center with gustiness of up to 110 kph, Pagasa said.
